Ilan El lives and works in Melbourne, Australia and is one of the city's most innovative lighting designers. Ilan designs with passion and philosophical awareness and a deep intuition for the spatial relationship light creates with its environment. Many of his highly distinctive experiential designs are interactive, contemporary and playful, illuminating a wide variety of spaces from hotels and restaurants to offices and homes worldwide.
He graduated from the School of Architecture in Tel Aviv University where he subsequently ran a multi-disciplinary design studio before moving to Melbourne, where he joined the Masters program at RMIT University.
